Windows Registry Cleaner
Ubuntu users are spoiled!
Don't believe me? Check out the Uniblue Registry Booster. There, for a mere $29.99 I can get my very own copy of the Uniblue RegistryBooster to fix my broken-ass MS Windows PC.
The other day I saw this ad on Facebook (left) and followed the link. - Made me appreciate Ubuntu/Linux, and reminded me how well treated Linux users really are.
I switched to Linux, Ubuntu in particular, in 2007. Since then, I've learned a little bit of C coding, PHP, and bash-scripting. I've also learned how to set up an Apache web server, install tarballs, and how to navigate through my file-system in the terminal.
In other words, if something isn't working as I'd like it to, I change it. Linux's open development model allows for that.
What my Ubuntu gnu/linux desktop also does, is to function as it's intended to and as advertised, without my having to install third-party software just to get basic functionality from the OS. If a problem like the MS Windows Registry corruption issue were discovered, for example, the developers and contributors who put my OS together would fix it. They'd fix it as soon as it was discovered, and my computer would fetch the update. Automatically. I wouldn't have to go installing any "free-trial" versions of anything. - I think they call them "free-trials" because most of them are very trying!

In the ad I mentioned, words like "Speed up your PC", and "Improve your computer's performance" are printed in bold letters, and there's a couple of "software reviews" from online magazines such as Cnet and Software.com heralding the virtues of the "RegistryBooster" - Ironically enough, when I googled "Uniblue RegistryBooster scam" I was returned to Cnet's user support forum and warnings about Uniblue's RegistryBooster trial-version refusing to uninstall. - Maybe they called it the registrybooster because that's what it does, it "boosts" your registry and you can never get it back unless you pay the ransom!
How long has the Windows' Registry issue been around? Forever! All through the years there's been reports of Windows computers slowing down over time, crashing and/or unresponsive applications due to registry corruption.
Has Microsoft not addressed the problem? Why are Windows users still having to get their operating systems fixed by a third-party? MS' execs and shareholders have made enough profit to sit comfortably on their 200' yachts in the Mediteranian, while their customers are shelling out dearly for add-on software just to get basic functionality from their systems!
Ubuntu users are spoiled. Their computers get automatic updates and bug-fixes as soon as they're released. No questions asked. It's taken for granted. There's an inherent pride in the OS that precludes leaving such critical issues unresolved.
Of course, we realize Ubuntu users aren't spoiled at all, Ubuntu, and Linux based OSs in general, are supported as any decent OS should be. Only when compared to Windows does normal really shine.
